Building a Visual Brand and Strategy for an international, multi-disciplinary approach to climate fiction and art

Summary

The Caribbean continues to be one of the global pioneers in adopting progressive, sustainable policies and strategies. Sometimes, that can take the form of deep strategic review of one’s brand, and revealing the gold that is already present. In the British Virgin Islands, H. Lavity Stoutt Community College (HLSCC) has stood the test of time, building a legacy honouring its iconic Founder, the late Hugh Lavity Stoutt, with considerable contribution to the territory.

The Challenge // The college is currently reimagining traditional educational models and in doing so, embodying the best and most resilient traits of the region. Alongside this, the college is at a pivotal moment in its history, as it rebrands for the next phase of its evolution.

The Solution // We worked with the college to develop a brand and campaign strategy that builds and elevates the brand reputation and awareness, specifically the selected vocational training programs, as well as how they communicate to the OECS and beyond. Several of the programs are engineered toward Blue Economy strategies, because the BVI is embedding this into all facets of the territory.

Our Approach

  • Market Research on OECS

    We started this project with a great conversation - first, we took the time to clarify client needs, and take a deep dive into the BVI territory where the college is located, and the OECS where it wants to create more of a presence.

  • Brand Strategy for BVI and Beyond

    Reviewing all of the market context and getting to know key stakeholders in the college and the BVI, we distilled insights into a clear and actionable strategy for their rebrand, as well as all future communications (including the present campaign).

  • Campaign Planning and Development

    We then worked alongside the Communications Team at the college for several months, developing and planning campaign concept, photoshoots, and executing all creative outputs in a way that aligned with other communication initiatives that they were undergoing.

We worked independently alongside our client every step of the way, supporting their team and building value.
